Today was a very long day for me. I had forgotten to eat
breakfast, I didn’t get enough sleep, and I had left my soccer socks at home.
It felt like I hadn’t had school in forever because we had a three day weekend
with Friday off. But in class today I was very amused the whole time. We were
having a discussion about North Korea and how now they have missals and bombs
that could reach the United States and soon cause a lot of problems. A boy in
my class had created a plan though. He had discussed that he could fly over the
seas in one of those super jets and sneak very quietly in North Korea and just
bomb the place… BOOM! PROBLEM SOLVED! Then there was another boy who was saying
we should have a bunch of fire works go off so they are distracted and then
bomb the place. It was quite a laugh but did make my day.
Continuing our discussion on Population today in human geo we talked about migration and the reason people leave a country. There are reasons why people might migrate from one country to another. These reasons are called push and pull factors. Push factors are ways people may leave a country and go to another. This includes a civil war, unemployment, religious reasons, and maybe environmental degradation. The other factor for migration is a pull factor. This includes a better economic, health services, religious freedom, and political freedom. After we discussed those two factors we talked about how many people go to Canada instead of the United states. I found out that in Canada when you get hurt and go to a hospital that you can just get treated and leave. But in the United states when you get hurt and go to the hospital not only can you be treated but you also have to pay hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars to be treated.
