Today in class I had told my teacher about how my lax coach,
parker Day had known who he was. After our conversation w egot our tests back.
Our test was on the continents, regions, and I think maybe oceans. I had gotten
a 17/20 on it. Only three wrong! I was pretty happy about my results. But
during todays class we took notes. We had been taking notes on Cultral Regions.
Cultural Regions are made up of Beliefs, material traits, and social forms. I
learned that the orgin of the word culture is the latin word for “to care for”.
In the word cultural there is the word CULT. I shared about my knowledge of
cults. A cult is where it usually revolves around one particular person. There
was one where a man said the world was gong to end and they were selling
everything everone owned but turns out the world didn’t end and he killed everyone.
Continuing our discussion on Population today in human geo we talked about migration and the reason people leave a country. There are reasons why people might migrate from one country to another. These reasons are called push and pull factors. Push factors are ways people may leave a country and go to another. This includes a civil war, unemployment, religious reasons, and maybe environmental degradation. The other factor for migration is a pull factor. This includes a better economic, health services, religious freedom, and political freedom. After we discussed those two factors we talked about how many people go to Canada instead of the United states. I found out that in Canada when you get hurt and go to a hospital that you can just get treated and leave. But in the United states when you get hurt and go to the hospital not only can you be treated but you also have to pay hundreds and maybe even thousands of dollars to be treated.
